MARCHWIEL HALL, WREXHAM

23RD MAY 2024

Recently, I had the pleasure of planning a Styled Shoot with my good friend Beth (Raw Focus North West) at the newly renovated North Wales Wedding Venue, Marchwiel Hall based on the outskirts of Wrexham City Centre. This beautiful, private country home brings acres of endless opportunities for the most picturesque backdrops for your wedding photography and I am delighted to be able to share this blog and the images with you.

We had a vision of timeless, black and white monochrome, elegance and sophistication. Planning it together, a moodboard was then created with our vision and our colour palette. The concept behind this styled shoot was to create an opportunity for like minded professionals within the wedding industry to come together and all bring our own creativity to the table, an opportunity for local businesses to support each other and showcase what we have to offer! From wedding venue to wedding photographer to wedding makeup artist to wedding dress, we had it all covered! If you have followed my socials for some time or you know me personally, you will know how I feel about finding the right wedding photographer for you and if you are new here, I feel it is so important that you find the right wedding photographer for you! What I mean is, yes, choose the style and look that you like but get to know your wedding photographer - speak to them, get a feel for whether they are the right fit for you. That goes for your other wedding suppliers too - makeup artist, hair stylist, wedding videographer etc. Invest some time in finding the right suppliers for you. When planning these styled shoots, I choose suppliers I know I can trust and rely on and I want the same for my couples too.

After weeks of planning, plus an incredible list of talented wedding suppliers who said yes to being a part of this day, it was fantastic to see it come together!  The only way I can put it to you, is for you to imagine planning your wedding day now and then seeing your chosen wedding suppliers come together for you on your wedding day! An incredible feeling.

I arrived at Marchwiel Hall shortly after 9am where I was met by our talented suppliers and also Emma and Kirsty who were our hosts at Marchwiel Hall. Emma & Kirsty were there to ensure the day ran smoothly and were super attentive to our needs - as it should be for you on your wedding day. Our model Lilly-Anne went in to hair and makeup by the incredibly talented wedding makeup artist Cassie M Bridal who created the most gorgeous elegant look. During this time, Beth and I took the opportunity to capture some detail shots - this included the wedding stationary - wedding invitations, save the date cards, place name cards all supplied by Twenty Four Prints and bridal accessories including a pearl headband and jewellery supplied by Cassie M Bridal Accessories, creating the most gorgeous flatlay. Following on from here, we were able to capture the dressing of the venue and table, styled by Halo Events, Table Alchemy and Skellon Events. Fran from My Beespoke Bakehouse was adding the final touches to her beautifully created 2 tier monochrome cake.

Whilst Lilly-Anne was putting her dress on, supplied by Hanni at My Funny Valentine, Chester, we captured Dillon doing up his final touches to his black bow tie suit, supplied by Cavani of Chester. Once ready and presented with the gorgeous wedding boquet supplied by The Little Brick House, we captured some more images in The Morning room with celebrant Julie Goodall. What a room! The Morning room at Marchwiel Hall was filled with so much natural light, making it the perfect room to hold your wedding ceremony - imagine it filled with your nearest and dearest as you are about to say 'I do'. Following on from this, we positioned model bride Lilly-Anne at the large window in The Morning room, creating the most beautiful bride shot. We then went outside to make use of the timeless white Beauford Wedding Car supplied by James Wedding Cars - a fantastic touch to your wedding day if you're considering having a wedding car. Surrounded by its own woodland and perfectly manicured gardens, we made use of the grounds at Marchwiel Hall, spotting the best backdrops we could find and oh my were we spoilt for choice! Our final shot of the day and forever one of my favourite shots was the classic confetti shot, captured at the front entrance of Marchwiel Hall, supplied by Your Confetti.

A fantastic day and so much fun to be a part of - I got to see Marchwiel Hall and its grounds, in all its beauty! I already can not wait to be back at this wedding venue!

LAURA & WILL - ABBEYWOOD ESTATE, CHESHIRE

31ST MARCH 2024

I am delighted to share more from Laura and Will's day in the heart of Cheshire at the beautiful wedding venue Abbeywood Estate. A huge 45 acre estate nestling in the Delamere countryside.

I arrived early as the outdoor ceremony was mid-setup and groom Will was adding the final touches to the reception room. How gorgeous it was to see everything come together! A beautiful Spring day, bringing the gorgeous sun, albeit still a little cool for Spring though ultimately giving Laura and Will the outdoor ceremony they had dreamed of! Perfectly lay blankets set on the outdoor ceremony seats for guests to keep warm! Fab touch!

I met wedding videographer Dave Bone Films, for the very first time, shortly after my arrival and we joined bride Laura with her girls in the Bridal Prep room where wedding makeup artist Gemma Baxter was well underway in getting these ladies ready for the beautiful day that lay ahead. For such a large estate, Abbeywood Estate has this homely feeling to it, so warm and welcoming! Being so homely meant Laura & Will's dog could join them for their whole time at Abbeywood Estate - feeling right at home, their gorgeous dog was in the midst of bridal prep with the rest of the ladies!

Once Laura had her final touches applied, we went upstairs to the Bridal Suite - so much natural light pouring through, making the getting ready images for Laura stepping in to her dress, joined by her mum, simply perfect!

We had a reveal set for both bridesmaids and Laura's father - for anyone even considering a reveal, do it! This takes a few minutes to organise/prepare and the results are so heartfelt! Nothing posed, just your chosen people to join you in the room before heading to the wedding ceremony.

Following the ceremony, came the drinks reception and canapes - I then managed to take Laura and Will in to the woods and gardens to capture some beautiful images, for them to cherish for years to come. Abbeywood Estate has the most stunning backdrops for your wedding photography portraits and set within 45 acres, you really are spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing where we capture your portraits!

As a wedding photographer, I understand how important it is to spend your wedding day with your guests and so short bursts of capturing you both in the moment, is all I ask for! With a little guidance or prompt from me along the way!

Laura & Will joined their guests back at their wedding reception, giving me the perfect opportunity to capture their guests and the entertainment of caricature artist,  Adam Hanson. Candid wedding photography is what tells your love story the best (in my opinion).

Following the Wedding Breakfast came speeches and then we took the opportunity to make the most of the dusky night to capture the sparkler shots with the bridal party before moving on to cake cutting and the first dance.

A beautiful way to finish this gorgeous Spring Wedding!

AIMEE & ZACH - THE GROSVENOR PULFORD, WREXHAM

18TH FRBRUARY 2023

I joined Aimee and her bridal party on the morning of her wedding at The Grosvenor Pulford. As I arrived, Aimee was mid hair styling with Zoe Chetwynd Hair and makeup by Annabelle Rose. I was met by Mathew Lloyd Videography - it's always fun to work alongside Mathew - I just knew we were in for a good day!

Bridal prep is definitely one of my favourite parts of the day - Aimee's room was just full of sheer excitement, a little nerves and LOVE. It was a perfect opportunity to get some natural photo's of Aimee and her sisters, her mum, inlaws and niece.

Aimee slipped in to her dress and WOW, she looked sensational - a classic, elegant puff sleeve dress with a button up back from My Funny Valentine Bridal. After a reveal to her bridesmaids and her dad, I went across the road to The Parish Church of St Mary's, Pulford where Zach, his groomesmen and his bestman were ready and in position waiting for the bride. The Parish Church of St Mary's Pulford is quite possibly one of the most beautiful churches I have ever seen - the light beaming through the coloured glass windows just hit perfectly.

The church was full as Aimee & Zach were surrounded by their closest friends and family including their fur baby Tilly.

Following the ceremony we took some portrait photo's at the church of family and Zach and Aimee with their dog Tilly. We went across to The Grosvenor Pulford where their guests were waiting at the drinks reception (Tilly was there too - one of the things I love about The Grosvenor Pulford is that they allow your dog to be there). Sophia Sax was doing her thing as guests were celebrating with the new Mr and Mrs Bryan - Sophia is a pehnomenal saxophonist and has been a part of many of the weddings I have been to as a guest and the photographer.

Shortly after we took to the gardens of The Grosvenor Pulford to get in the last of the group photo's and portraits before losing the light. We had a few minutes with Aimee and Zach before it started to rain, they both embraced it before it got too heavy though with no umbrella we made a dash inside as it started to get heavier.

Everyone sat down for speeches followed by the wedding breakfast.

Following the wedding breakfast and before their evening guests arrived, I managed to whisk Aimee and Zach off for 20 minutes to get some more portraits of the two of them indoors.

We returned back to the wedding party where Aimee & Zach greeted their evening guests, cut the cake and went straight in to the first dance.  With a DJ and a live band, it wasn't too long before the dance floor was full and the party was in full swing!

A quick change of footwear for Aimee & a Centre netball bib over the top of her dress - some dance floor candids and the party continued in to the night!

It was my absolute pleasure to capture their wedding day - I loved being a part of it all!

REBECCA & DAFYDD - TOWER HILL BARNS, WREXHAM

12TH FEBRUARY 2023

To kick off my 2023 weddings, my first couple of the year, Rebecca and Dafydd got married at the beautiful venue Tower Hill Barns which is located between Wrexham and Llangollen, set in the most beautiful Welsh Countryside.

I was joined by Mathew Lloyd Videography who was the wedding videographer for Rebecca & Dafydd’s big day - always fun working alongside Mathew!

I joined Rebecca and her bridal party for bridal prep photo’s whilst hair and makeup was in full swing by Sarah Meredith Makeup. The bridal party was a total vibe! Full of fun, totally relaxed and having the best time!

Rebecca & Dafydd’s ceremony was held in the indoor ceremony room, come dance floor by night, where they shared their very own written vows. Their vows were heartfelt and warm - there wasn’t a dry eye in the room!

After the ceremony, we headed in to the bar area where the drinks and canapés were flowing and everyone was having a great time.

The grounds at Tower Hill Barns are what I love the most about photographing here as it makes for so many photo opportunities. Tower Hill Barns hosts an outdoor ceremony area, a converted old railway-bridge plus 10 acres of countryside gardens - creating the most beautiful backdrops for your portraits which is where we headed next.

Once we had finished the photographs we headed back inside to be seated for the wedding breakfast and speeches.

Throughout the wedding breakfast, a violinist from ‘string infusion’ delivered the most captivating performance as she played in the background whilst Rebecca, Dafydd and their guests enjoyed their wedding breakfast.

Soon after Rebecca & Dafydd’s evening guests had arrived we took the entire wedding party outside to capture the sparkler shot. Following this we went back inside for cake cutting and first dance!

The live band and saxophonist Nick Rushworth had the entire wedding party on their feet dancing to their music - everyone was having a fantastic time.

It was an absolute pleasure to be Rebecca & Dafydd’s wedding photographer - a day filled of love, pure happiness and lots of fun!

MY START TO BECOMING A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER...

I quickly knew I wanted to focus my skills and business as a Wedding Photographer in Wrexham, Cheshire, Shropshire and the surrounding areas (with a hope for some destination weddings too).

At the beginning of 2022 I came across another wedding photographer on Instagram who’s work I had pure admiration for; Raw Focus North West. Beth at Raw Focus North West had posted on her social media one day and the post resonated with me and where I was at with my photography business at the time. I reached out to Beth and before I knew it,  I was joining Beth along with some other talented suppliers at a styled shoot at The Cock O’Barton in Wrexham, which was where my journey to becoming a Wedding Photographer started.

I was super nervous during the build up to this day and on the morning of - I didn’t know what to expect - I’d only ever been to have dinner at The Cock O’Barton before so to see it through the eyes of a wedding photographer brought a whole new insight to this beautiful wedding venue.

We started inside The Cock O’Barton where we captured a few photo’s of the wedding dress hanging and of our model bride whilst she was getting pampered by the creative Poppy Michelle Hair & Makeup Artist - I absolutely love bridal prep and all the feels that come with it - from the nerves to the sheer excitement! Once our bride was ready, we then ventured out in to the grounds of The Cock O’Barton.

We spent a few hours getting creative - I remember feeling excited to get home and upload all of the photo’s I’d taken, I just couldn’t wait to see - a feeling I still get each time I pick up the camera now.

A day I will never forget for so many reasons - surrounded by a team of talented suppliers and some I had just met for the very first time. I got to watch others in action whilst starting to bring out my own flare and creativity which just continues to grow!

CHOOSING THE RIGHT PHOTOGRAPHER FOR YOU

Finding the right photographer for you is so important - after all, we will be spending most of your day with you!

Does my style of photography

HEY & WELCOME!

Hey! Welcome to my first ever blog and what a way to start by inviting you all in to my little world to get to know me on a more personal level.

I made the best decision in December 2021 to take my love for photography to a whole new level - with my biggest supporter pushing me outside of my comfort zone, Terri Jarvis Photography was created.

I have always been employed from the age of 13 so becoming self employed was a huge change for me and one I’m definitely glad I made. To be my own boss, do something I absolutely love and be able to work it all around my favourite people - my husband Dyf and children Noah (aged 11), Elsi (aged 7) and Lotti (aged 1), is just everything.

A few weeks in, I quickly knew which direction I wanted to focus my skills and business in - Wedding Photography, Family & Newborns.

In March 2022 I attended a styled shoot at The Cock O’Barton in Wrexham along with some super talented suppliers which was amazing. I will save this topic for another day but this was where I began my journey to becoming a Wedding Photographer.
